the buddy system

the buddy system

On Saturday night, a large group from our family went to a Mariner’s game. After nine innings of yummy food, fun music, and freezing in the breeze, we headed out with the rest of the thousands of people to find our car. Jokingly, we said “use the buddy system and stay together.” (I’ve lost two children in the stadium before - but that’s a blog for another day). I grabbed my cousins’ hand and we were herded out of the stadium like sheep. We ended up at the absolute wrong side of the stadium, super far from our car. We kept moving in the herd and some of our party went ahead, some fell behind. We all made it to the car in the end, but it got me thinking….

I hear from a lot of my clients-even the littlest ones, that they are lonely and feel that they don’t have anyone on their side. Whether it’s your mental health, parenting, being a kid, being a grownup, a student or a someone working a job; you don’t have to go it alone. You also don’t have to go along with the masses hoping you’ll make it to your destination. You can ask for help. You can tell people you’re not okay. You can grab a buddy and ask them to give you a hug.

If you’re feeling lonely or lost, don’t feel like you’ve got a buddy, or need some direction, call Moxie. Reach out- we’re here to help.
